Mardi Himal trek was only accessed to very limited trekking corps who specialised with a team who took care of tents and catering. The trail used during the trek was the same trail used by the shepherds of that reason who took their cattles to the higher altitudes (Lekh) during the summer. Mardi Himal Trek is one of the newest trekking route that was introduced officially only in 2012 and therefore is an authentic destination with originality. It is a short trek and is not so far from Pokhara. This trek is relatively easy. You will be able to make your way through beautiful rhododendron forests, staggering alpine landscapes and diverse cultural settlements. You see dramatic change in your trail as soon as you cross the rhododendron forests and then you will be able to see the glorious views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Hiuchuli and of course Mardi Himal itself. From High Camp situated at 3900m although some maps have mistakenly mentioned 3700m, you shall reach Mardi Himal Base Camp in about 4 hours. You shall have a spectacular close up views of the whole Annapurna Base Camp Himalayan Range. In these days you will be able to find some simple teahouses and homestays with basic fooding and lodging facilities. You shall be able to reach Kathmandu on the 8th for for the next day flight if everything goes well planned during the trek.

Day 1: Arrival at Tribhuban International Ariport.

We shall be able to take a Flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu early after we have had our breakfast at the Hotel in Kathmandu. We shall then take 1:30 minutes drive from Pokhara to Dhuampus. From their our trek begins with upward trail that shall last for 1.5 hours. We will be able to witness a clearing in the forest we pass through which is also known as Australian Camp. From there we will have the opportunity to witness the mesmerising views of Annapurna Range and the valley of Pokhara. The trail then further goes winding into the rhododendron forest and gradually leading to the pass called Deurali. Deurali overlooks Modi Khola Valley surrounded by Mardi Himal, Mt. Machhapuchre and Annapurna South.


Day 2: Fly to Pokhara and drive to Dhampus and trek to Deurali.

After basking in the sun in this beautiful morning at Deurali, we take the main trail used for Annapurna trekking. We stroll through the forest range to reach Forest Camp. We should be more careful in this day’s trek . Since it is a new trekking trail we will not be able to find any teahouses in between. We will have to carry out own lunch in our backpack and also sufficient drinking water for the way. We shall trek for approximate 5 hours and through the rhododendron forest.


Day 3: Deurali to Low camp.


Day 4: Low Camp to High Came.


Day 5: High Camp – Upper View Point – Forest Camp.


Day 6: Forest Camp to Austrilian Base Camp.


Day 7: Austrilian Base camp to Pokhara.


Day 8: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu.


Day 9: Departure to home.
