Langtang Vallley & Gangja La Pass Trek

Langtang Gosaikunda and Helambu Trekking may be a lovely travel in Nepal through lavish timberlands, curious towns, copious natural life and bewildering sees of the magnificent Himalayas. The 17-day journey starts in Kathmandu with visits of the city’s UNESCO World Legacy Sites. Then we drive to Syabrubesi which may be a Tamang town found on the banks of the Bhote Koshi Stream and start our journey. We reach Kyanjin Gompa and after that climb Tserko Ri the next day. From there we get huge sees of the Langtang Lirung (7,200m/23,622ft) extend. Another, we proceed trekking within the wonderful Langtang Valley and reach Gosaikunda which could be a respected place of pilgrimage for both Buddhists and Hindus. Additionally, the put is named after the glistening Gosaikunda Lake whose water is accepted to have mysterious mending powers. Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu.

Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by our airport representative. Then you will be taken to your hotel. After check in, you will refresh and rest for a while and then later, meet your trekking guide as well as other participants. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner where you will be served excellent authentic Nepalese cuisine. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Sightseen in the Kathmandu Valley and trek Preparation.

Today, after breakfast, we begin a tour to many of Kathmandu's most historical and spiritual attractions. Some of landmarks we visit include the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddha Nath). You will be also briefed on the nature of the trek, equipment’s and team composition. In the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion during which we will meet with our hiking leader and other team members. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive to syabru Bessi(1450m) – 9 hours drive.

After early morning breakfast, we head along the hills northwest of Kathmandu where we can enjoy the views of the Himalayan and the mountainous lifestyle through terraced fields and rustic villages. We will have short break at Trishuli Bazar for lunch before continuing to Dhunche. From Dhunche, we descent down to Syabrubesi. Overnight in Syabru Besi.

Day 4: Syabru Bessi to Lama Hotel (2430m) – 5 hours trek.

After breakfast, we start our trip to Lama Hotel along the Langtang Khola. We ascend and descend simultaneously through oak and rhododendron forests. After crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola (small river), we ascend a steep path that will take us to the Lama Hotel. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 5: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3541m) – 4.5 hours trek.

We continue our ascent from the Lama Hotel and take advantage of the mountainous landscape with its numerous waterfalls. When we arrive in the green pastures of Ghoda Tabela, we start to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. Our trail continues through the expanding valley, passing through temporary settlements used by shepherds. We crossed a Buddhist monastery before reaching the village of Langtang, affected by the earthquake of April 2015. Overnight in Langtang Village.

Day 6: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa(3870m) - 4 hours trek.

After breakfast, we will start our trip to Kyangjin Gompa, one of the main monasteries in the area. We pass by near water-mills, prayer-wheels, and chortens, with sacred mounds of rock on which were engraved inscriptions. We also cross the largest Mani wall in Nepal, made of stones and prayers. After the short walk, we spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the Kyangjin Gompa Buddhist Sanctuary and its surroundings with breath-taking views of the mountains. Night in Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 7: Explore day at Kyanjin Gompa.

After taking morning tea and breakfast at Kyanjin Gompa, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures and start for visiting to Tserko Ri (5000m/16,404ft) for mountain sunrise views. In the afternoon we return to Kanjin Gompa- surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks. Then we will have full evening rest and prepare our trek for next day. Night in Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 8: Kyanjin Gompa to Ngegang (4000m) – 5.5 hours trek.

Today, the hiking route is very short. We cross the Langtang Khola under the Kyanjin Gompa, then make a steep climb along the ridge on south side of the valley through a forest of junipers and rhododendrons. Finally, the path becomes smoother and the hiking trail reaches the Yak grazing to Ngegang (4000 m), where it is possible to find the right place to camp before climbing the Ganja La pass. Overnight at Camp.

Day 9: Ngegang to Langsika Kharka via Ganja La Pass (5200m) – 6 hours trek.

Today is the day when we actually make our way up to Ganja La Pass after walking for nearly 6-7 hours. This happens to be the toughest part of our entire trip. We will spend enough time resting at the pass and taking photographs before descending down to Langsika Kharka where we spend yet another night in a tent.

Day 10: Langsika Kharka to Dukpu (4080m) – 7 hours trek.

Today is long and strenuous day as the descends along a ridge. The first thing we do is pack up the tents and other items in the morning. Then we resume our trek, descending down to Dukpu. The trail heads down the valley, but stay high above the river, finally meet the ridge itself then follow the ridge line to Dukpu (4080m). Overnight at camp.

Day 11: Dukpu to Tarkeghyang (2550m) – 5.5 hours trek.

We start walking after having made our preparations and trek down to Tarke Ghyang, a village mostly inhabited by Tamang people. From the top of Pass offers magnificent views of Dorje Lakpa and scenery some part of Everest range. After pass you trek through pine and rhododendron forest past tiny herders settlements to a ridge high above Tarke Gyang. Then descend steeply to Gekye Gompa (3020m) through Ama Yangri Danda (3771m) which is the best view point in Helambu region. Approximately at a walking distance of 6 hours from Dukpu we arrive at Tarkeghyang. In the evening we can explore the village if the weather is fine. Overnight at Tarkeghyang.

Day 12: Tarkeghyang to Shermathang(

The road leaves the village and sweeps the wide valley to reach the beautiful Sherpa Village of Ganyul at 2520 meters altitude. From there, the trail passes a ridge, but begins to ascend quickly through deep forests, crossing several streams to a crest at 2620 meters. We continue our way past the great gompa in Chumnik, before another soft climb leads to the village of Sermathang (2610 m). In the evening, we visit Gompa and the village to discover their lifestyle and culture. Night in Shermathang.

Day 13: Shermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (846m) – 5 hours trek.

The final portion of our trek takes about 5 hours and our final stopover is the famous Melamchi Bazaar, a small town settled by the roaring Melamchi River. The trail passes chorten after chorten in the settlements of Nigale, Gyalsha and Raithani Gyang. From here we descent through chir pine forest to yet another chorten at Kakani, which is the last Sherpa village on the trek. Continuing further down the ridge our trail will eventually bring us to a large suspension bridge which crosses the Indrawati River and brings us into Melamchi Pul Bazaar (880m). Melamchi Bazar is famous for locally produced organic vegetable and is a common junction of several trekking routes in the Helambu region. We will spend our night in a local teahouse. Night in Melamchi.

Day 14: Drive from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu (1400m)

From Melamchi Pul, we can take local transport or have our private transport to take us back to Kathmandu. By drive from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu, the trip takes approximately 6 to 7 hours. You take a stony and curve path that leads to Lamidanda, then follow the steep road towards Kathmandu along the Banepa and Dhulikhel road. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Free day and Farewell Dinner in Kathmandu.

Today, you have leisure day for relax or shopping in Kathmandu so you can do your own activities by yourself or consult with company to arrange other extra activities. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner organized by the company to celebrate the success of our trip. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 16: Departure to Home.

Our trip to Nepal ends today. Our air representative will drop you off at the airport about 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On the way back, you have ample time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
